Description:Up and Off to CENTRAL CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH to hear HOPE DAVIS at 9:30. She will play a concert with the theme of African-American and Black Diaspora Composers. *** After a short break we will have the REGIONAL MEETING. *** After lunch we will be off to PROVIDENCE COLLEGE for a panel on ARTISTRY IN WORSHIP. *** At 3:30 you have choices of the following workshops: [1] Organ Reading (and Playing) Session. Here is your chance to play! A sampling of new music may be signed out at registration. [2] Choral Conducting Panel. This exceptional panel of experts will field questions about conducting and then work one-on-one in small groups to address specific needs. [3] Membership Roundtable led by DAVID CLYLE MORSE, moderator [4.]. Professional Concerns Seminar – led by EDWIN LAWRENCE *** Still at PROVIDENCE COLLEGE, you will have a chance to hear the Quimby Competition Winner in ST. DOMINIC CHAPEL. *** This will be followed by the Grand Closing Banquet at Providence College. *** And the last wonderful event will be a concert by GILLIAN WEIR at the Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul. Glorious Organ Gala *** Dame Gillian Weir, DBE, one of the foremost musicians in the world and a star of the London music scene will perform one night only in Providence at the Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul. Come hear why two million Britons a week tuned in to her BBC televisions series. Having toured, taught and televised worldwide, she is the recipient of numerous awards, honors and prizes. In the summer of 2006 she was the first organist to record on the newly renovated organ of fabled Royal Albert Hall, the largest organ in the British Isles. She is also the Prince Consort Professor of Organ, Royal College of Music, London.
